We all have moments where our emotions take over. We get angry, upset, anxious, or sad. Disappointed, full of joy, ecstatic and so full of love.
It's in moments like those that we suppress the emotions we are feeling. We don't know what to do with them, so we push them down into our bodies, and they get stored in specific locations that make sense to our bodies.
We can't see this, but the energy of those emotions is very real and can cause illness and behavioural/mental and emotional problems.
Say for example, that you have suppressed rage, and this is in your liver area. This means that the energy around your liver is sluggish, which will lead to your liver becoming sluggish, and this can have a huge effect on your digestive system. This in turn can affect your hormones and other areas in your body, and can make you quite toxic. This can lead to chronic pain.
And this is just the energy part of it!
So how do we deal with those emotions more constructively?
First of all, we need to learn to be with the feelings. Many of us do not like what we feel, so we blame someone else, or a situation, or we fabricate a story about why we feel like this. Some of us distract ourselves, so we don't have to feel and look at our feelings. Some of us self-medicate with alcohol or drugs.
However, being with an emotion, and letting it flow through our body, being present to how it feels in our body, is a skill that is new to most of us.
And it is a great way to heal and let go of painful emotions.
In the Warrior Journey, we support your ability to do this, and heal yourself. We support you in taking responsibility for your feelings, so you can stop giving your power away to others and situations around you. And we support you to let go of old pain you no longer need.
Our next Warrior Journey will be starting soon. Because of Covid restrictions, we will do this on Zoom. This is your last opportunity to do the course at our introductory price of $499. Please book on our website www.soul-direction.com or contact me on 021 077 4807 to register.
